Modbus RTU
Overview of Modbus RTU
Modbus is a serial, Client/Server protocol. Modbus RTU is the implementation of Modbus on serial interfaces. A popular interface is RS485. For detailed information, visit https://www.modbus.org/
For Modbus RTU, Master/Slave calling convention is popular over Client/Server convention.
Master request data using Function Codes FC, and the Slave will reply accordingly.
Two transmission modes available are ASCII and RTU, for transmitting serial data over a Modbus network, but they cannot be used together. The mode that is chosen must be adopted by all the Modbus components throughout the network.
Deskval Workbench Rtu Master implements RTU transmission which is known with its efficiency and and speed.
